Comparing Lines of Code in Cars and Planes

Want to know something interesting? An F-22 Raptor has 1.7 million lines of code powering its computers, an F-35 has has 5.37 million lines of code, and a Boeing 787 has 6.5 million lines of code. That may seem impressive, but consider this, the average luxury class consumer automobile has an average of 100 million lines of code that runs on 70-100 microprocessors. Wow, I never imagined it was that much! I knew it would be a lot since there’s so many different computers going on in cars these days, but I’m never would have guessed that many lines of code!
