No seriously, NTT Docomo has unveiled their scrap wood mobile phone concept! This really gets me where my heart should be because I’m a wood worker at heart and I think that this is a great concept. How many phones end up in the trash after 6 months? Take it from a guy who has worked in the industry, it’s a lot. So, at least some of the phone will biodegrade. I thought it was great that T-Mobile started going with a minimal packaging idea so I wonder if any major manufacturer or carrier will pick up on this idea.
Although rather amusing, that’s actually a really good idea. As you say, the number of mobile phones just thrown away every day is staggering.
