Obama calls for delay in digital switch

Due to several issues concerning the switch to digital television on 02/17/09 the Obama transition team has called for a delay. Apparently the government subsidies to help cover the purchase cost of digital converter boxes have run dry and many people will have to incur the costs without finding from the government. This has caused many high level government officials to become concerned about the transition.

Now, most of us have had some sort of digital television for years but it’s easy to see where this could affect the eldery or those who live in the middle of no where.

How many IT people can roll in this?

Well, I know I can’t have one of these but I can dream right? This 2009 Bently Azure is sure to be at the top of the high end car market.

With 500 HP it will make those long days sitting in a room full of servers seem like a distant memory!A 1110 Watt system means this car can pump out your heart from twenty paces. I think this is the sleekest and most sophisticated automobile in existence today!

So why is this a post suited for an IT blog? It isn’t but seriously, if you were a CIO for a fortune 500 you would be driving to work in this beauty!

Virtual autopsies..seriously?

As the world goes deeper into the relm of virtural reality I guess it’s only natural that the exploration of dead also becomes intrenced in the workings of virtual reality. CT scans have really taken the medical fields into whole new worlds with the ability to find ansers to why loved ones pass on when traditional autopsies can’t find the answers. I think this is one of the cooler things I’ve seen recently in the medical field. It should help a lot of families get closer when they might not have gotten it the old fashioned way. Folks, this is a good story to share with those who bash the virtual world!
