IPEVO wireless picture frame

Now that T-Mobile has launched the Cameo, a GSM based picture frame that comes assigned with its own mobile number that allows anyone with an MMS capable phone to send their own pictures to your digital photo frame IPEVO has come out with their own wireless version for around $200.00. This is a sure fire product because it can work in conjunction with your computer to allow for wireless uploads and wireless control of themes to allow you the ultimate control on why shows up on your photo frames.

Who hit the mute button?

Like me, most people have become addicted to youtube videos but youtube has hit the mute button on videos uploaded with copyright music attached to it. I’ve noticed a lot of people uploading songs that only display a single shot of the bands name. This is an easy way for people to share music but a bad way to get bands paid. So if you come across a video that has no sound, you will know why.

Google sales drop

Yes, Google’s sales dropped in the 4th quarter but they out performed expectations. There is no doubt that Google Chrome and Android have been a big part of their sales numbers over the last three months. However, with sales down it’s clear that there is an obvious financial impact to Internet sales since Google makes most of its revenue from advertising mechanisms like Adsense and web hosting like Blogger.

With Microsoft’s layoffs of 5000 employees things are looking a bit tough for Internet based companies.

LED Binary Watch

ledbinarywatchWow, this might just be the ultimate in geekdom! Are you good enough to tell time in Binary? Well for those who are, here is an LED lit Binary wrist watch that is sure to confuse the living hell out of your friends and family!

Here is an excerpt from their website, “This watch displays time in binary format. It uses LED lights to display the time. Need we say more? Okay, we will. The watch face contains 10 red LEDs that are used to indicate the numbers of the binary sequence (1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32) and the values of the lighted LEDs are added to determine the time. There are two rows of LEDs – the top row for the hours and the bottom row for the minutes. With a little practice you can learn to read this time format easily. Won’t it be fun the next time someone asks you “what time is it?” and you can enjoy their bewildered expression when you flash your wrist emblazoned with glowing binary? Yes it will, you quietly smirk to yourself.”

25 years and still going strong

Happy birthday Macintosh! It’s been 25 years since you first hit the market and finally you have a viable, user friendly interface that actually serves as a viable option to avoid using Microsoft products. For that reason only, the tech world thanks you! Competition is a great thing for consumers. I just hope that Microsoft realizes soon that you are competition and that you have surpassed them!

The NFL goes HD 3D!

Yes, you heard it correctly. at the end of the 2008 regular season the NFL experimented with theater hosted High-Definition three dimensional live football games. They did this in an effort to push this technology into homes over the next few years. It supposedly puts the viewer in the middle of the game and early reports indicated that the viewings were a success!

The technology that has to go into this is vast and is very interesting in it’s own right but it will be interesting to see if the fans of football embrace this on a large scale or will they reject it. With the cost that the NFL has to be investing in million dollar set ups it might behoove them to come up with a consistent instant replay system and fix some of the issues that prevents the game from running smoothly.

Playstation 3 for 3 bills?

I’ve been reading on several IT forums, websites and blogs that Sony will be reducing the price of the PS3 to $300.00 for the 80 gig multi-functional gaming console. This likely means 1 of two things. Sony is feeling the pinch to their bottom line with the current recession or they are in development of the PS4 and want to start unloading old stock and components. This is a common practice and usually when you see drastic price drops you’ll start seeing advertisements for a new product within a year. Let’s hope that scenarios are right because the PS3 is a great performer so for those who don’t have one you should wait until April, when prices are expected to be slashed. Also, a new and improved Playstation would be nice for us old time users of the PS3!

New Browsers for iPhone

There is a new browser option for the iPhone and it’s absolutely free!  The Edge Browser’s main feature that makes it worthwhile in my opinion is the fact that it gets rid of any screen clutter other than the reception and battery level bar on the top of the iPhone screen.  There are also several other options out there as far as a iPhone web browsers goes, so make sure you check them all out before making a decision but its kind hard to argue with free.
